History
Their self titled debut album Death Threat released 1993 went gold and produced the hit "Gusto Kong Bumaet (Pero 'Di Ko Magawa) which told tales of the daily lives of the young impoverished Filipino youth growing up in the city streets and slum areas.

1993, local music enthusiasts got the shock of their lives when a rap group called Death Threat blasted and lambasted authority figures in the government with a song called "Bantay Zalakay" from their self-titled album. Going along with the times, they also touched on the subject of fraternity wars with "Fratsta." At a time when rap was trying to retain a "wholesome" image, Genezide and Beware, the two main men behind Death Threat, actually had the guts to change the way the game is played. Since their gripping debut, they already made their presence felt in the local music scene. They said what they wanted to say unmindful of what other people think… they just did it their way. Theirs was, in essence, "rap with an attitude".

Aside from their boldness and daring, what makes Death Threat different from other rap groups "making a statement", is that they don't resort to verses with curses. Death Threat is composed of different rappers, each with something to say in his own way. Beneath his own figures of speech and humorous wordplay, Genezide subtly yet directly attacks your mind and awakens your consciousness to what he really wants to say -- often and always, the cold, harsh truth about life. Beware is the "gangsta rapper" whose songs are about his experiences in Sactown, California. Gloc-9, like the weapon he named himself after, flows with such speed and forceful velocity, that when you listen to him you'll have to try your best to keep up or eat his dust. And as for Radikal MK, he isn't your typical DJ who plays and mixes songs. He actually turns his turntable into a musical instrument, churning out scratching noises like notes that express the depth of his creativity. This immense talent of his was recognized when he won the DMC Philippines Championship in 1996.

Death Threat is the best of the lot because they may all be different but when they make music, they become a singular unit of sound, and you'll never even guess they're made up of different components. Three albums later, Genezide, Beware, Radikal MK, O-Dogg and Gloc-9 thought that it was time to show their fans these individual talents, although they would like to emphasize that they are NOT splitting. In fact, they still contribute to each other's solo outings via featured vocals or as producers for a particular track or several tracks.

Their second became even bigger, passing the double platinum mark and producing the hit single "Ilibing ng Buhay (Ang Mga Sosyal)" with Pooch of Ghetto Doggs from the album Death Threat:Wanted.

Rapper Beware left the Philippines after releasing the album, the group went to duo and released their 3rd album "Kings Of Da Undaground" in 1997 but it only features Hi-Jakkk and Gloc-9. The album received 4x Platinum Certificate Award despite of having no mainstream promotion and by only word of mouth in the streets. Then, Beware returned to the Philippines in 1998 to release a new album Death Threat:The Return that was recorded in Sactown, California.
